Having bought a new Fuji Track Comp last summer I felt it was time to give it a face lift in the form of a custom 'waste' paint job and new rims. The process of stripping, prepping, undercoated, masking and painting was a joy from start to finish.

Stumbled across the old classic Steamboat Willie the other day. Cant believe it was released way back in 1928. Had forgotten how beautifully simple the animation was. I remember watching it as a kid and drawing steamboat willie over and over. click this link and feast your ears and eyes on the classic once again.

We recently visited the Gastrotypographicalassemblage show at Kemistry Gallery in London. It was really interesting to see the origins of Lou Dorfsmans ideas. Its a shame that the piece got into such a bad way and is now having to be restored.

We went over to the wonderful Nottingham Contemporary to see their new exhibition 'Star City - The Future Under Communism'. The Collection explores how the future was imagined under Communism – and why that vision is so important to us today?'

It features the work of leading artists who grew up in the former Eastern Bloc and have emerged as international artists during the last decade – Althamer, Kusmirowski, Macuga, Mir. Star City also includes leading figures of the Eastern and Central European avant-garde from the 60s and 70s – Filko, Kabakov, Koller - together with other leading contemporary Western artists who have worked behind the former Iron Curtain – Jane and Louise Wilson, Otolith Group.

If your in or around Nottingham make sure you stop by to see this excellent collection you will not be disapointed.

The event will start on the roof terrace for a BBQ and live screen printing of work from the participating artists.

As the sun sets the action moves downstairs to the basement bar where there will be talks and installations by a number of different creatives. Talks and showcases will come from the likes of:

Studio Output • Merlin Nation • Richard Paul • Waste • Bryony Birkbeck
